Astrocard
(Working Title)
Each player is able to create a friendship with up to 2,000 other players. A friendship allows players to play in sessions together, create local parties and easily locate acquaintances in public spaces.
Creating a friendship can be done via two methods:
When you create a friendship, it sends a request to the other player. If they are in-game, this will appear via the in-game user interface (heads up display). If they are offline, it will show on the main menu the next time they start the game. It will also send the player an email informing them of the request. Requests can be accepted via the Astrocard website.
Friends can be invited to a local party. A local party is the name given to a temporary group of players who travel and play together in a play session.
When in a local party, the party can:
Friends can send direct messages to each other. This is done via the in-game chat system. The chat system is accessible via the in-game user interface (heads up display). Additionally, friends can send group messages to their local party.
When a friend is online, their status will be displayed on the main menu. Additionally, when a friend enters the game, a notification will appear on-screen via the in-game user interface.
When in a local party, friendly fire is disabled. This means that players cannot damage each other. This is useful for when players are playing together in combat, and want to ensure that they do not accidentally damage each other.
If a player is your friend, their display name will be displayed in green, rather than blue. This is to make it easier to identify your friends.
